What is your hometown? Eldoret, Kenya
What is your educational background? I completed my Bachelor of Science in Resource Management from Moi University (Kenya), I then completed my Master of Education with a concentration in Special Education (M.Ed). I have been an Exceptional Educator in local public schools for 9 years. I recently completed an intensive six month Data Analytics bootcamp and yearn for more knowledge that is why I joined DSI.
What is your working experience? The most fulfilling and rewarding part of being a teacher is when you hit the “Aha” moments for students.
Why data science? My passion for Statistics and finding the hiddden treasure in numbers is my key reason that I joined Data Science. The decisions that are being made in any organization or institutions are currently based on solid data output. I am a problem solver, passionate about creating algorithms to automate processess.
Why did you choose Vanderbilt? After attending a free two day Analytics Intensive by Dr. Jesse Spencer-Smith, I loved the event and asked if there were more of the same. I inquired if they had a program and boom! Here I am. I can’t wait to begin this journey. Vanderbilt is among the best universities in the country. I am so thrilled to be a Vanderbilt student.
