Janet is a senior with a double major in Math and Economics, with minors in Russian and Data Science. Her research interests are in applying data science and optimization techniques to analyze economic depressions and structural reforms, particularly in emerging markets and post-socialist countries. Janet is especially interested in the use of statistical and econometric models to analyze government policies. This summer, Janet is working with Professor Kathleen McKiernan. In the future, Janet intends to pursue a PhD in economics with a focus on macroeconomics and time series econometrics. Her goal is to use her research to contribute to the frontier of knowledge of successful policies in developing and transition economies to promote economic growth.
