What is your hometown? China
What is your educational background? I used to study mathematics and applied mathematics at Hunan University. I also have experience as an exchange student in the United States before, learning statistics and machine learning courses.
Why data science? Because data science is an interdisciplinary subject using mathematics. I have been interested in computer hardware since I was a child. Also, Inspired by statcast in MLB, I decided to study data science.
Why did you choose Vanderbilt? I like Vanderbilt’s way of education. Schools can provide students with many resources that students need. I know Vanderbilt because Vanderbilt is top 1 in college baseball. At the same time Vanderbilt is a member in SEC union. There are very few schools that are able to remain top in both academic and sports. This is why I chose Vanderbilt.
