We’re pleased to be able to introduce Abigail (Abbie) Petulante as a new DSI Postdoctoral Fellow! Abbie received her PhD in Astronomy this year at Vanderbilt where she applied a wide variety of machine learning and deep learning techniques to model the development of large structures comprised of dark matter in simulations of the evolution of the universe. As a member of the DSI Data Science team, Abbie will be working on a number of projects applying DL models to scientific problems through research collaborations. Abbie’s faculty mentor is Prof. Doug Schmidt in the Vanderbilt School of Engineering. The DSI Postdoctoral Fellows program is part of our Deep Learning Initiative, supporting the adoption of AI techniques in fields across Vanderbilt.
