The Curb Center is housed in the Pullen Mansion at the corner of 18th and Edgehill. We have a number of spaces which can be used by students, faculty, staff and the Vanderbilt community at large. These spaces are ideally suited for small meetings, conferences, workshops, and maker events.

We offer the following resources to students, faculty, staff, and the Vanderbilt community at large:

  • Four different rooms for hosting up to 24 people. Great for meetings, casual gatherings, maker events, presentations, and workshops.
  • Three studios for hosting up to 6 people. Great for creating music, videos, and podcasts and includes recording tools, audio and video editing software, and microphones
  • We also offer: WIFI, audio/visual equipment, work tables and chairs, whiteboards, projectors and screens

Large Rooms

The Foyer & Reading Rooms

Our gallery space is at the front of our building and often hosts exhibition openings and other receptions supported by The Curb Center.  It consists of a main hallway with a table and minimal seating and two connected rooms with a central tables and chairs plus some easy chairs with side tables. All three rooms feature work from The Curb Center’s current exhibition. This area does not include a projector or screen.

(Capacity – up to 60 comfortably, including up to 24 seated)

The Yamada Conference Room

Yamada is one of the center’s most flexible rooms, since it can be set up in a variety of ways. It looks out onto 18th Avenue South and includes tables and chairs and features full AV capabilities.

Capacity – up to 15 comfortably

The Workshop

The workshop space provides the flexibility needed for informal meetings, maker events, presentations, and workshops. The space contains work tables, chairs, easy chairs and whiteboards and features full AV capabilities.

Studio Spaces

 Note that a one-time training session is required before using any of these studio spaces for the first time.

Trainings will not be conducted two weeks prior to finals. Only trained individuals may book during this period.

Studios

Songwriting Studio

This room is dedicated to songwriting and demo work. It has been fitted with basic recording tools, music and editing software, and microphones. This room is managed by Benedict Ballman and Gina Yu, who provide training for all equipment to first-time users.

Capacity – up to 6 comfortably

Video Studio

The Video Studio is dedicated to making and editing video and comes equipped will all basic recording and editing equipment and software. It's managed by Curb Scholar Ardelan Orlay who provides training for all equipment to first-time users.

Capacity – up to 6 comfortably

Podcast Studio

This room is dedicated to podcasting and comes equipped with microphones and  recording equipment and software.
