Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Vanderbilt University are excited to announce the launch of the Vanderbilt Cloud Innovation Lab (CIL) for Libraries and Applied Digital Preservation, powered by AWS. This new creative collaboration marks a significant milestone in the advancement of digital preservation technologies and cloud-based solutions.
Vanderbilt University and Nissan Motor Corporation have joined forces to pursue strategic projects in data science and beyond. The partnership is expected to unlock significant value and identify potential cost savings of over $70 million for Nissan.
Diermeier, the university's chancellor, aims to supercharge the university's year-old Nashville Innovation Alliance by creating a mixed-use innovation district. The years-long effort would overhaul more than 40 acres of property on the west side of campus along or not far from West End Avenue.
“This luncheon recognizes those who have worked tirelessly with the VU Corporate Partnerships team,” said Matt Seaton, director of corporate partnerships, during his welcoming remarks emphasizing the importance of collegiality across campus. “Their efforts to forge impactful connections led to significant positive outcomes for our students, faculty and the broader community.”
The Vanderbilt University Frist Center for Autism and Innovation, in collaboration with AllianceBernstein and Vanderbilt’s Corporate Partnerships team, hosted an event at the firm’s New York City office on Thursday, April 17, to celebrate Autism Acceptance Month. The “From Autism Acceptance to Advantage: Learning from Autism to Create Innovative Workplaces and Teams” event showcased examples of cutting-edge technologies and management strategies to help organizations tap into unique pools of talent and become employers of choice.

Over the past year, the university has worked closely with community organizations and local civic leaders to foster opportunities for businesses, startups, investors, researchers and policy influencers to come together and exchange ideas that could take root and launch in Nashville.
Alumni, corporate partners and community stakeholders gathered at the new Vanderbilt University–New York City campus in Chelsea, with their mentors and mentees, for a thought-provoking discussion led by celebrity chef Rachael Ray and her own mentee, Anna Francese Gass.
From providing financial aid to Tennessee students to collaborating with local organizations on research and community initiatives, Vanderbilt’s influence extends far beyond its Nashville campus.
“As national security becomes increasingly intertwined with emerging technologies, it is essential that institutions like Vanderbilt University’s Institute of National Security take the lead in preparing the next generation of leaders,” Davoudian said. “By equipping students and professionals with the tools and knowledge necessary to safeguard national interests, Vanderbilt is stepping forward as a key contributor to the safety and security of our global community.”
Vanderbilt and Nissan showcased their partnership during an event in September that included more than 85 representatives from the university and Nissan North America. Participants heard from Vanderbilt Chancellor Daniel Diermeier and Nissan North America Chairperson Jérémie Papin, and discussion was moderated by Vice Provost for Career Advancement and Engagement Alex Sevilla.
Alex Sevilla, vice provost for career advancement and engagement, echoes this sentiment. “Our team’s North Star is delivering career empowerment for every student and every career pathway, aiming to transform aspirations into tangible outcomes. We’re committed to putting this principle into action and into practice.”
Vanderbilt University has joined Mayor Freddie O’Connell, the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, First Horizon Bank, the Metro Housing Division and other funding partners in launching the Nashville Catalyst Fund. This innovative initiative aims to address Nashville’s affordable housing challenges through a new tool designed to create, preserve and develop more affordable housing options across the city.
