TuanKhai Nguyen

Biomedical Engineering

Overview:

TuanKhai is currently a 2nd year Biomedical Engineering Ph.D. student at Vanderbilt University Institute of Imaging Science with Dr. Mark Does and Dr. Kevin Harkins. His research interests include MRI method development to examine micro-structural changes in the context of neuro-degenerative white-matter diseases. He specifically looks at axonal properties via simulations and optimizations of parameters in diffusion MRI processes. With the imaging methods developed, the far-reaching goal of his research is to assist with therapeutic efforts for patients experiencing neuro-immunological diseases.

TuanKhai enjoys doing outreach to inspire in future generations the passion for science and engineering. He is part of the NanoGuides team in the VINSE Microfluidics and Analytical Lab.
