Podcast: Coffee's far-reaching impact - from personal to global - explored at conference  10-30-2007    printer

Coffee aficionados heard varying perspectives and sampled different roasts of their favorite wake-up beverage at an Oct. 26 conference organized by the Center for Latin American and Iberian Studies. "One of the reasons we held a coffee conference was to celebrate the move of the Vanderbilt Institute for Coffee Studies to our center," said director Edward F. Fischer. "While the institute will continue to look at the health effects of coffee, its mission is expanding to include the cultural and economic development aspects of this enticing drink."
