The Grueter lab is seeking a postdoctoral candidate with a background in neuroscience to support a NIH funded project aimed at determining the behavioral and electrophysiological consequences of HIV-1 integrase inhibitors on neural circuit function. The postdoctoral candidate will be trained in electrophysiological and behavioral methods in mouse models. Competitive candidates will have a strong publication record and experience in experimental neuroscience with an emphasis on rodent models. The Grueter lab is part of the Research Division in the Department of Anesthesiology and the Vanderbilt Center for Addiction Research within Vanderbilt University Medical Center collaborating with Dr. Chandravanu Dash at Meharry Medical College.

| Full Description | We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a background in neuroscience. The postdoctoral position is R01 funded through a collaboration with Dr. Dash at Meharry Medical College adding biochemical techniques to our electrophysiological and behavioral techniques. These state of the art techniques include acute brain slice electrophysiology, specifically whole-cell patch clamp of genetically tagged neurons within the reward center. Prior electrophysiology research is desired but not necessary. |
