VECTOR Director, Dr. Craig Philip, named a new member of the Executive Committee to the Transportation Research Board

Dr. Craig Philip, Research Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Director of VECTOR, has been named a new member of the Executive Committee of the Transportation Research Board (TRB).  Dr. Phillip is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and has spent 35 years in leadership positions in the transportation industry, including maritime, rail and intermodal.  From 1993 to 2014, Craig served as President/CEO of Ingram Barge Company as it grew to become the largest US domestic marine transportation carrier.  Craig began his career at Consolidated Rail Corporation and later served with Southern Pacific Railroad where he was Vice President of their Intermodal Division.  He is a member of the Marine Board and is scheduled to become Vice Chair of the Marine Board in November.  He is also Chair of the consensus study Committee on Safe Transportation of Liquefied Natural Gas by Railroad Tank Car. He will be succeeding Dr. Geraldine Knatz, whose second three-year term will be ending in January.
