Our Mission
Teaching@Vanderbilt partners with educators and units across Vanderbilt to advance evidence-based teaching practices. Through programs, resources and academic partnerships, we foster collaborative inquiry and continuous improvement in teaching to promote transformative student learning.
Programs
Each semester, Teaching@Vanderbilt offers workshops, learning communities and cohort programs that provide Vanderbilt instructors with opportunities to learn about evidence-based teaching strategies and become more effective educators. With the exception of a few programs designed for specific audiences, our events are open to anyone who teaches at Vanderbilt, including continuing-track faculty, lecturers, professors of the practice, postdoctoral scholars and graduate students.
Teaching Resources
Our online collection of teaching resources can help you learn about evidence-based teaching practices at your own pace. Browse our materials on teaching with AI or our guides on a variety of teaching topics.
Individual Consultations
Individual consultations are among the most beneficial services we offer Vanderbilt instructors. Each consultation is focused on your needs, allowing targeted approaches to address your teaching context and goals. These one-on-one consultations are strictly for your professional development; they never play a role in hiring, reappointment, tenure or other evaluative process.
Departmental Solutions
Our Evidence & Impact team collaborates with department, program, school and other unit leaders to support your curricular and organizational development. Whether you're redesigning a course, assessing a program or new initiative, exploring innovative teaching strategies or conducting research on teaching and learning, we provide the expertise, tools and partnership to help.
