Program Overview

In this program, facilitated by IFSA-Butler, students enroll directly in the University of York, one of Britain's top 10 universities and a member of the Russell Group of universities, similar to U.S. Ivy League universities. Visiting students are normally admitted to one or two departments and select coursework from those departments. Students live in one of eight residential colleges or in university housing close to the campus. Students participating in the fall program will have a shorter semester of approximately 2.5 months, whereas the spring students have a longer semester of about 5.5 months. York has more the 2,000 years of history evident in walls that date to Roman times, fascinating architecture, and York Minister, Northern Europe's largest Gothic cathedral. London and Edinburgh are just a short train ride away.
