Included in fees paid to Vanderbilt University: CIEE tuition (6 credits), housing (no meal plan), CIEE participation confirmation fee, and CIEE health insurance.

  • This budget sheets assumes that you are considering taking two courses on the program. If you elect to take three courses, you will be responsible for Vanderbilt's summer tuition for the additional credits (generally 3 additional credits).
  • Students who opt into CIEE Select or Select Plus housing will be billed directly by CIEE for the additional housing charges.
  • The cost of Vanderbilt's mandatory health insurance coverage (GeoBlue) is included in the Program Fee paid to Vanderbilt. This cost is based on the length of the program and accounts for $132 of the listed Program Fee.
  • This is a summer program. Wherever possible, summer Vanderbilt tuition will be used to cover all costs of the program, including housing and other standard costs billable by Vanderbilt's study abroad program partners. Fees due to individual circumstance, such as additional course fees, housing cleanup fees, visa fees, and other fees not included in our partners' standard billing cannot be included. Please note the following about the out-of-pocket costs listed above:
  • The CIEE application fee for this program is included in the tuition or program fee you pay to Vanderbilt.
  • Visa/residence permit costs and requirements may vary depending on your nationality.
  • Airfare costs are highly variable and influenced by a number of factors, so we recommend making your own estimates based on your personal travel plans.
  • There may be predeparture costs associated with health checks, vaccination, prescriptions, etc. These costs will vary individually and are not estimated here.
  • In addition to the costs above, you should also maintain your health insurance coverage in your home country in case of medical emergency.
