| Full Description | The Experimental High Energy Nuclear Physics group at the Department of Physics and Astronomy, Vanderbilt University, is inviting applications for the position of Postdoctoral Research Associate beginning January 1st, 2026. Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in high energy nuclear or particle physics. The Vanderbilt group is a member of sPHENIX and ePIC collaborations at Brookhaven National Laboratory, the CMS collaboration at the LHC (CERN), and the theory/experiment JETSCAPE collaboration. The group has made major contributions in the study of the quark-gluon plasma (QGP) with detailed investigations of collective phenomena, jet-medium interactions and jet substructure. The group’s program also includes heavy flavor and quarkonia as probes of QGP. We have extensive experience in detector R&D and construction. Expertise in one or more of the areas of interest for the group is highly desirable. |
| Application Details | Applications include a CV, a brief description of research experience and interests, list of publications, and three recommendation letters, and should be sent electronically to Prof. Julia Velkovska: julia.velkovska@vanderbilt.edu. |
