How to Register and Apply Discount Codes
As a current OLLI member, you can register for Lunch and Learns and Special Events for free or at a discounted rate. Discount codes are available on the Member Resources page of the Membership Program webpage. The password to access the Member Resources page was included in your OLLI at Vanderbilt member welcome email. Not an OLLI member yet? Many events are available to non-members for a fee. Or, become an OLLI member and enjoy free or discounted registration for these events.

Tour of the Tennessee State Library and Archives
Free for OLLI at Vanderbilt members; $15 for nonmembers
Go behind the scenes at the Tennessee State Library & Archives and discover how the state's rich history is preserved and made accessible for future generations. This guided tour offers a fascinating look at one of Tennessee's premier historical and research institutions. Highlights of the tour include the lobby exhibit gallery, the state-of-the-art Automated Storage and Retrieval System—affectionately known as the "robot"—and the public reading room, where researchers explore Tennessee's extensive collections of historical documents, photographs, maps, and records. The guided tour lasts approximately 45 minutes to one hour. Following the tour, participants are welcome to explore the reading room at their leisure and may register for a free library card if they wish. Whether you're a history enthusiast, genealogist, or simply curious about Tennessee's past, this visit offers a unique glimpse into the preservation of our state's history. -

Experience a behind-the-scenes look at one of North America's largest and most advanced automotive manufacturing facilities. During this guided tour, you'll see how robotics, automation, and skilled employees work together to build Nissan vehicles from body assembly through final production. You'll also learn about Nissan's significant investment in Tennessee and the important role the Smyrna plant plays in the state's economy. Please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes, as the tour includes walking through an active manufacturing facility. -

The Murder of Rasputin: The Whodunnit of the 20th Century
Free for OLLI at Vanderbilt members; $15 for nonmembers
On the night of December 16, 1916, a group of conspirators murdered Grigory Rasputin, Russia’s “Mad Monk”. While meant to strengthen the Romanov dynasty, this murder brought on their downfall merely two months later and ushered in a year of two revolutions that ended with the Bolshevik takeover of Russia and the eventual murder of the Tsar and his family. In many ways, Russia and the rest of the world are still dealing with the consequences of that murder.This lectures will shed new light on what happened that night, who killed Rasputin, and what motivated them. In this lecture, Dr. Pereltsvaig will share the results of her latest archival research in British, American, French, and Russian archives and will present her historical novel based on her findings, Murder in Petrograd.

Haunted Vanderbilt Tour
Free for OLLI at Vanderbilt members; $15 for non-members
Join Brandon Hulette for an extended 60-minute tour exploring the legends, hauntings, landmarks, and lingering mysteries of Vanderbilt’s campus. This special tour will take you to several historic (and maybe haunted) locations, including the Vaughn Home, Medical Center North, VUMA, 1101 (home of the beloved Princess the Cat), Central Library, and the historic graves at Bishops Common. Along the way, you’ll hear the stories behind the final resting places of McTyeire, McKendree, and Soule, uncover fascinating moments from Vanderbilt’s past, and learn why the Vaughn Home is widely considered the university’s most haunted building. Don’t miss this once-a-year opportunity to experience Vanderbilt’s history, legends, and ghost stories just in time for Halloween!

Earth Experience Museum Tour
Free for OLLI at Vanderbilt members; $15 for nonmembers
Earth Experience is filled with thousands of relics, fossils, gems, rocks, dinosaur bones, models, and exhibits that help bring our world’s early days to life. There are exciting and interesting exhibits to explore and touch, with staff-led tours along with a mobile app to enhance what you see. Tours last approximately 80 minutes. Guests will be able to watch fossils being prepped for display by our expert team that is happy to answer any and all questions about the process and challenges of paleontology. -

Curb Center at Vanderbilt Art Exhibit: Land Shapes
Free for OLLI at Vanderbilt members; $15 for nonmembers
Landscape is never neutral or purely natural; rather, it is shaped by historical, social, and economic forces. Challenging conventional assumptions about what constitutes a landscape, “Land Shapes” investigates how environments are constructed, mediated, and interpreted by contemporary artists. The multi-media selection explores both the depiction of landscape and the viewpoints that inform its representation — drawing upon both dominant and suppressed voices.“Land Shapes” highlights the work of Vincent Pomilio, Roxanne Bartel, Lanecia Rouse, Jana Harper, and Maria Magdelena Campos-Pons, whose treatments of landscape represent their diverse backgrounds, locations, and media.
