SCALE Students

The SCALE student experience empowers each student to map their journey- from early college experiences through graduate school and/or the workplace.

SCALE Partners

The success of the SCALE program is driven by the interaction and collaboration within our public-private-academic partnership (PPAP). Members include academic institutions, government agencies, private companies, and defense industrial base (DIB) partners. Each organization plays a specific role in the development of the microelectronics workforce. Partners work across organizational boundaries to determine workforce needs and provide curriculum and work experiences to prepare students to contribute to the workplace. Currently, SCALE’s PPAP unites 29 universities and 50 partners from the defense industry and government.

Technical Verticals

The five SCALE technical verticals were derived from Department of Defense-prioritized technical areas, addressing critical real-world needs in microelectronics. Each vertical has a unique set of learning objectives, with integrated curriculum, research, and internships designed to develop specialized, in-depth student knowledge. Vanderbilt is the Tech Lead in the Radiation – Hardening vertical.
