Zachary Settle

Zachary Thomas Settle is a PhD candidate in the Graduate Department of Religion at Vanderbilt, where he is working at the intersection of systematic theology and economics. He serves as the theology editor for The Other Journal, and he is the co-host of the Political Theology Network’s podcast, ASSEMBLY. He is the co-editor of Dreams, Doubt, and Dread: The Spiritual in Film (Cascade, 2016), and he has written for publications such as The Journal of Cultural and Religious Theory and the Journal of Feminist Studies in Religion. In his dissertation, he extends the recent work of political Augustinianism into the economic sphere, drawing on Augustine’s theological anthropology in order to sketch an anti-work ethic.
