Janiece Williams

Janiece R. Williams is a second year Ph.D. student in the Graduate Department of Religion at Vanderbilt University where she studies Homiletics and Liturgics. She is a Theology and Practice Fellow as well as a Russell G. Hamilton Scholar. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, she holds an M.Div. from Wake Forest University School of Divinity and a B.A. in Biblical and Theological Studies from Nyack College. Her research interests include black preaching tradition(s), womanist homiletics, millennial womanist rhetoric, and the ethics of preaching. A scholar-practitioner, Janiece actively serves as an associate minister Watson Grove Missionary Baptist Church and is passionate about bridging the gap between the Black Church and the academy.
