January 2026 dining upgrades

Vanderbilt Campus Dining is kicking off the new year with a series of upgrades across dining halls, cafes and Munchie Marts. These changes reflect Campus Dining’s commitment to serving delicious, nutritious and convenient options to the Vanderbilt community and are driven by student feedback. Most upgrades will be in effect starting the week of January 12. Welcome back, Commodores! 

Key changes across campus 

Café Carmichael 

  • Oat milk will be the default for all drinks; other milk options remain available upon request.
  • Pineapple upside-down cake will be offered on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  • Peanut butter tart and house-made sugar cookies will be offered.
  • New sandwich lunch schedule: chickpea salad croissants will be offered on Mondays and Wednesdays; caprese baguettes will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Commons Dining Center  

  • Commons is producing house-made desserts and breakfast pastries.

Monday-Friday breakfast (7-10 a.m.)

  • Introducing a made-to-order omelet station at The Grill with topping options including tomatoes, spinach, onions, peppers, cheese, sausage and bacon.
  • A new build-your-own-bagel will be available featuring choices such as bagel Nova lox, blueberry and strawberry bagels, flavored cream cheeses and more.

E. Bronson Ingram Dining Hall

  • Cookies will remain a staple item due to rave reviews.
  • New items (e.g., cinnamon rolls, muffins) will be tested throughout the semester for student feedback.
  • Salsa verde and lemon herb vinaigrette will be offered at the condiments station.

Rand Dining Center  

  • New house-made sauces will be offered at the FreshMex station, including avocado crema, fire-roasted salsa roja and mango jalapeño salsa.

Friday dinner

  • Flatbreads will be made to order with rotating proteins and cheeses.

Saturday dinner

  • Introducing banquet-style offerings, higher-end, dinner-style entrées typically served at catered events or formal dinners (e.g., salmon, steak, similar composed plates), for an elevated dining experience.

Rothschild  

  • Introducing the Rothschild Molasses Cookie and a new variety of desserts, including variations of puddings, cookies, breads, muffins and more.  
  • Rice Rice Baby will no longer be made to order Monday-Thursday evenings.  

The Pub  

  • Introducing new toppings for quesadillas (e.g., steak, chicken).  
  • Loaded fries with topping options including fajita chicken, steak and beyond beef, will be available.  

Campus Dining welcomes feedback  

As always, health, wellness and the student experience remain at the heart of every decision made by Vanderbilt Campus Dining. Students are encouraged to share in-the-moment feedback through Text and Tell or get involved with the Dining Advisory Board.   

What’s next  

Campus Dining leadership is continually working to improve the student dining experience. Keep an eye out for more announcements, including details on the launch of new Commissary items (e.g., a charcuterie pack) and updates on student feedback.
