Research data encompasses the collection, management, analysis, sharing, and preservation of data generated from research activities.
Types of Research data can include:
- Quantitative Data: Numerical data that can be measured and analyzed statistically (e.g., surveys, experiments).
- Qualitative Data: Non-numerical data that provides insights into underlying reasons and motivations (e.g., interviews, observations).
- Big Data: Large volumes of complex data generated by various sources, often requiring advanced analytical techniques.
- Open Data: Data that is publicly available for use and sharing, promoting transparency and innovation.
**The management, storage, and sharing of data generated by research activities are the responsibility of the Principal Investigators in charge of the related research project.
Information and guidance on research data can be found on the Cybersecurity Website.
