The purpose of course and teaching evaluations is to advance the university’s teaching and learning mission through the regular assessment of instruction. Evaluations provide valued formative feedback for instructors and empower students to reflect on their experiences in the classroom. Evaluation results assist students in selecting the courses that best meet their curricular requirements and scholarly interests, and also facilitate the faculty promotion and tenure review-process by administrators. Course and teaching evaluations are a valued form of student feedback at Vanderbilt. 

The centralized evaluations process is managed for the College of Arts and Science, Blair School of Music, Peabody College, School of Engineering, College of Connected Computing, Graduate School, Divinity School, Law School, Owen Graduate School of Management, School of Nursing, and certain programs in the School of Medicine.
