Every Vanderbilt student starts somewhere different. The seven Career Pathways are starting points — advising, immersive experience, and employer access specific to the industry you’re aiming for.
Each Pathway connects you to employer relationships and immersive experiences built for that industry: treks, panels, and programs designed to get you in the room early. Most students draw from more than one. A healthcare consultant pulls from both Healthcare and Consulting. An engineer eyeing venture capital might work across Engineering and Technology and Finance. Pick where you want to start, not a box you're locked into.
Pursuing fellowships, pre-law, or pre-health? Pre-Professional Advising works alongside the Pathways. Visit those respective pages to get the most structure recommendations and support.
The New York Corporate Trek was an eye-opener and a dream creator for me. As a first-generation student, the career options at home are often limited, but the trek widened the array of possibilities for me. The site visits and Vanderbilt alumni panels helped put unfamiliar career paths into a lens that seemed tangible. I loved getting a glimpse into New York by walking, taking the subway, and bonding with students at Vanderbilt.
