CAUTION: Microsoft Releases Internet Explorer 9

Posted by on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 in Tip.

Microsoft’s release of Internet Explorer 9 (IE9) has many of the downsides of using Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) with OAK, along with one major setback: users cannot access a page that has a text box editor UNLESS “Compatibility Mode” is turned ON. One other item that users should know: the gray pop-up dialog boxes are now at the bottom of the screen.

Instructors and students are still able to use IE9, but are cautioned to turn “Compatibility Mode” ON. A help sheet with more information can be found in the Training section of the main OAK website at www.vanderbilt.edu/oak/training.php or downloaded directly HERE.

If problems persist, try using Firefox, our recommended browser.
