Mission
The Bishop Joseph Johnson Black Cultural Center (BCC) serves to enhance the student experience at Vanderbilt by providing programming and resources that educate about Black history, highlight Black accomplishments, and showcase Black culture, while promoting belonging and creating community for all.

School Year: Monday - Friday, 10 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Sunday, 3 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Summer: Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Ways to Engage
Experiential Learning
The BCC empowers students with immersive activities, including BCC Ambassa'Dores, student workers, new involvement options, and the Black History Immersion Excursion.
Cultural Programs
The BCC engages faculty, staff, and students year-round in programs educating about black culture and identity, including workshops, lectures, performances, experiential learning, and more.
Signature Events
Signature events include the Welcome Back Soul Food Luncheon, Harambee March, Black-ISH Mixer, Homecoming Celebration, and Black History Month Celebration.
