The Frist Center for Autism and Innovation is proud to announce that two of our exceptional staff members, Dr. Jessica Schonhut-Stasik and Dave Thompson, have been honored with the Nimoy-Knight Foundation’s ‘Live Long and Prosper’ Tribute Award for their groundbreaking work in supporting the neurodivergent community.
This distinguished award recognizes individuals who embody the values of Star Trek—exploration, diversity, and the pursuit of a better future for all. Previous recipients include celebrated figures such as Bill Nye and LeVar Burton.
Dr. Schonhut-Stasik, an astrophysicist and founder of The Neuroverse Initiative, has dedicated her career to creating pathways for neurodivergent individuals in the space sciences. Diagnosed with Autism, ADHD, and OCD at 27, she has transformed her personal journey into a mission to help others harness their neurodivergent strengths. She resonates deeply with the Star Trek character Spock, whose

struggle to balance logic and emotion mirrors the experiences of many in the autistic community.
Dave Thompson has also made significant contributions to advancing neurodiversity awareness and creating inclusive environments where neurodivergent individuals can thrive. His commitment to championing the unique perspectives and talents of the neurodivergent community aligns perfectly with FCAI’s mission. His newest book “Brainstorm: A Guide to Neurodivergent Talent and the Future of Work” is available March 3rd.
Please join us in congratulating Dr. Schonhut-Stasik and Dave on this extraordinary achievement. Their dedication continues to inspire us all as we work toward a future where neurodiversity is recognized as a strength and every individual has the opportunity to prosper.
