Benjamin Anthony is a PhD candidate in Homiletics & Liturgics and a priest in the Episcopal Church. His dissertation, “Christ in Boston: the Death and Power of Phillips Brooks,” centers on the personality, death, and memorialization of Phillips Brooks. The project grows out of an interest in the role that personality has in preaching and the particular shape this role gives to the lives of preachers. This interest has fostered an approach to teaching that stresses formation of the disposition necessary to and acquired through the practice of preaching.
For the 2013-2014 academic year Benjamin is serving as the Visiting Instructor in Homiletics at the School of Theology at the University of the South.
