Student re-carding was completed on November 2, 2009. If you did not obtain a new card, please visit the Commodore Card office to trade in your old card.
University Central faculty and staff will be contacted with their re-carding dates after the first of the year. All employees will be required to have a new photo taken. Re-carding of Medical Center students and employees will be coordinated by the Medical Center Card Office subsequent to the re-carding of University Central.
"The Commodore Card has not been re-designed in 12 years," said Frank Gladu, assistant vice chancellor for business services. "In addition to the updated design, the new cards take advantage of current technology, which provides greater security."
Commodore Cards function as both, an ID and access card as well as a debit card that can be used to purchase food and other items from on and off-campus merchants.
The new design allows for enhanced security by using a unique, randomly assigned encoding scheme.
Current card reading systems will be able to read both the old and new cards and no impact on card reader functionality is anticipated.
