Darryl David Berger

A history major who graduated cum laude from Vanderbilt University in 1969, Darryl David Berger also holds a Juris Doctorate degree from Tulane University. He has been a trustee since 1997, having first served on the Vanderbilt Board of Trust from 1991 to 1993 as past president of the Vanderbilt Alumni Association.

Mr. Berger is owner and president of Darryl Berger Companies, Inc., a privately held real estate development and investment company. He serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of Tulane University, is former Chairman of the Board of the Isidore Newman School, and serves on numerous boards and organizations in the New Orleans area. His awards include the Institute of Human Understanding—10 Outstanding People of New Orleans; the1984 Gambit magazine’s New Orleanian of the Year Award; and the Jewish National Fund Tree of Life Award in 1985.

Darryl and his wife, Louellen, are the parents of Allison, a graduate of the University of Virginia Law School; Darryl, Jr., a 2002 graduate of Vanderbilt in the College of Arts and Science; Brandon, a 2003 graduate of Vanderbilt in the College of Arts and Science; and Ryan, a 2005 graduate of Vanderbilt.
