VanDIY: Health at Every Size

Posted by on Sunday, October 2, 2011 in Archives, News.

In this informative session, Peggy Elam, Ph.D., psychologist, publisher & host of the Health at Every Size show on Radio Free Nashville, will share an approach to health and well-being that is being called the peace movement in the “war on obesity.” Whether practiced personally, professionally or culturally, Health at Every Size focuses on health rather than weight (or weight loss).   In so doing, it reduces reliance on weight loss practices that are ineffective or actually harmful. This alternative to the weight-centered approach promotes balanced eating, life-enhancing and enjoyable physical activity, and respect for the diversity of body shapes and sizes.

Join us and learn about BMI Profiling, facts & fallacies about dieting, harmful effects of the “war on obesity,” and the steps you can take toward health and happiness no matter what your size.

Lunch will be served for the first 50 attendees to RSVP.

When: Tuesday, October 11, 12:00pm-1:00 pm

Where: Sarratt Student Center 216/220
