Intramural Registration
Registrations can be completed at the Office of Campus Recreation from 9 am – 5 pm Mon. – Fri. Each house-€™s vice president will be responsible for assisting the Office of Campus Recreation in promoting and registering teams for both the Commons sporting events and intramural sports. Smoothie King is now open in the Vanderbilt Student Recreation Center.


Steel beams are being erected for the recreation center-€™s field house and light poles on the Natchez Field are being reconfigured.

The Vanderbilt Rec Center climbing wall is currently CLOSED due to construction and renovation of the Student Recreation Center. Please pardon this inconvenience.

SPRING BREAK EQUIPMENT RENTALS

The Outdoor Rec Center is giving you three days in which to return your gear.

RETURN GEAR:
Mon. Mar. 11 from 12 noon -€“ 6 pm
Tues. Mar. 12 from 3 – 6 pm
Wed. Mar. 13  from 3 – 6 pm

After 3/13 it will be considered LATE!

Additional fines will be assessed for late, damaged, lost, stolen or excessively dirty equipment. The renter takes full responsibility for the equipment signed out in his or her name. Late fees are the same amount as renting the gear for more days.

ORC HOURS:   Monday and Friday: 12 noon -€“ 6 PM, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday:   3-6 PM.


Kayak Roll Workshops
Learn to ROLL a KAYAK . . . . a popular self-rescue technique for whitewater kayaking.

Learn how to kayak the quick and easy way!  Kayak Roll Workshops cost $5 to Vanderbilt students and Student Recreation Center members and $15 to non Student Rec Center Membership.

Each class is independent from the others.
Knowledgeable kayak Instructors and kayaking equipment are provided for both the workshops and the open kayaking.

To attend the Kayak Roll Workshop, you  may register up to two weeks in advance.  You can sign up  by e- mailing outdoorrec@vanderbilt.edu.

***Note: Our classes for the  spring semester will be on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 -€“ 9:00 pm

Roll class participants should be on the pool deck ready to get in the water by 7:00.   Our instructors will outfit you with the proper equipment and go over class structure prior to getting in the pool at 7:00 pm.

Cancelations -€“
You must call no later than 5 PM the day of the workshop to cancel your spot. Those who fail to show up for a workshop after signing up, risk future participation in the workshops.

Payments of cash, check, or the Vanderbilt Card will be accepted. Please stop by the front desk of the Student Recreation Center to pay and sign in. For more information, call the Outdoor Recreation Program at 343-8182 during rental hours (Monday and Friday from 12-6 p.m. and Tuesday-Thursday from 3-6 p.m.).


Vanderbilt Swim School is now offering Private Swim Lessons

Private Lessons are offered for ages 2+ and  focus on the participant-€™s needs, ranging from becoming comfortable in the water to improving stroke technique and efficiency.  VSS Private Lesson registrations and payments must be received in the Office of Campus Recreation before 12:00 Noon on the Thursday before the upcoming week of lessons.  Four 40-minute lessons for $150
