Liberating Structures, led by Anna Jackson and Fisher Qua, is a methodology grounded in the idea that the strategies commonly used to organize collaborative discussion often end up stifling creativity and a sense of belonging. Liberating structures offer an alternative way to approach and design how people work together. In the session, you’ll learn new ways to encourage students and fellow colleagues to take risks, tolerate ambiguity, and engage others’ perspectives both critically and generously. Come ready to engage, share, and learn new ways to build community in your classes and collaborative discussions!

University Counseling Center (UCC) Drop-in Consultation for International and APIDA-identifying Students
UCC Drop-In Consultation provides easy access to informal, confidential, and free consultations with University Counseling Center counselors.
UCC Drop-In Consultation is generally helpful for students who 1) are not sure about counseling and wonder what it’s like to talk with a counselor, 2) may not be interested in ongoing therapy but would like the perspective of a counselor, 3) have a specific problem and would like to talk it through with a counselor, or 4) have a concern about a friend and want some thoughts about what to do.
Students who are experiencing an immediate mental health emergency are encouraged to attend UCC Urgent Care, instead of Drop-In Consultation. For any questions about UCC Drop-In Consultation, please call 615-322-2571.
Every Tuesday
