Nourishing Heads & Hearts Series with the VUMC Dietetic Internship program

Presented by The Dietetic Internship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and hosted by Peabody Office of Student Engagement & Well-Being, we invite you to participate in our Nourishing Heads & Hearts series. We are excited to highlight our final session below and we encourage you to also sign-up for a 1-on-1 Independent Study Session!

Nutrition 401: Intuitive Eating: Listening for What Your Body Needs
Have you heard about intuitive eating or have curiosity about its principles? Intuitive eating is a philosophy of eating that views you as the expert of your body and its hunger signal. This session will identify the potential benefits of intuitive eating and explore ways that you can incorporate this self-care eating framework into your relationship with food.

Independent Study Session (a 20-30 minute 1-on-1 wellness coaching and question session): 
If you have multiple questions about the nutrition topic or would like an individual nutrition and wellness session with one of the VUMC Dietetic Interns, sign up for an “Independent Study”. These Independent Study sessions are 20-30 minutes in length and will provide the opportunity for you to receive more personalized nutrition information. RSVP here.

Moving Beyond Land Acknowledgements & Token Representations – Lunch & Learn

SpeakOut is hosting a webinar called Moving Beyond Land Acknowledgements & Token Representations with Dr. Adrienne Keene on Thursday, November 11th at 3:00 p.m. CST.

Peabody EDI will be buying 10 tickets to this event and then will host a Lunch and Learn on Friday, November 12th at 12:00 p.m. CST to discuss further. Peabody Research Spotlight

The Peabody Research Spotlight (PRS) series is designed to showcase research conducted by faculty and Ph.D. students at Peabody College, and to facilitate and strengthen interdisciplinary collaborations. The series is open to prospective Peabody Ph.D. students as well.

The session will feature research labs across all five Peabody departments. Each faculty member will provide a brief overview of the work conducted in their research lab. Each presentation will be followed by a brief Q&A period.

Book Discussion with Professor Chris Loss: Robert’s Rules of Order, and Why It Matters for Colleges and Universities Today

Join us for an engaging book discussion with Professor Chris Loss, who explains why Robert’s simple, elegant handbook to democratic governance captured the imagination of so many ordinary citizens during the Gilded Age and how it has shaped the development of our colleges and universities ever since. He shows how Robert’s rules can help faculty, administrators, and students to solve problems and overcome challenges through collaboration, disciplined thinking, trust in the facts, and honesty and fairness from all sides. Dean’s Diversity Lecture Recommendations

We are looking for potential speakers for the Dean’s Diversity Lecture for the 2021-2022 academic year, and would love to have your recommendations. These recommendations will be collected by the Faculty Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Committee, who will review the recommendations and collectively suggest 2-3 speakers for the Dean to choose from.
