Student Affairs Comms E-Newsletter [Vanderbilt University]

September 3, 2021

Dear DOS Staff and Graduate Assistants,

As part of the ongoing professional development program in the Office of the Dean of Students (DOS), we offer division-specific training opportunities throughout the year. One of these opportunities is the DOS Mini Conference. The Mini Conference typically includes sessions on topics related to our mission and work, including policy guidance, process reminders, and best practices. This year, the following sessions have been made available in Oracle Learn for you to complete asynchronously over the next month:

  • FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act)
  • Mandatory Reporting
  • Protection of Minors
  • Administrative Excellence (Staff Only)
  • DOS Interim Flexible Work Policy Review (Staff Only)

All staff and GAs should complete the assigned modules by September 30, 2021. The modules can be accessed using this quick link and selecting “View Enrollment.” The modules can also be accessed by logging into the Oracle system, selecting “Learning” on the “Me” tab, and then selecting “Current Learning.”

Additionally, DOS staff are required to complete the “Remote and Hybrid Work Policy for Staff” course in Oracle by September 30, 2021. This course can be accessed using this quick link and selecting “View Enrollment.” Please note this course was created in Oracle with a renewal date so it will remain in your learning queue even after completion. You only need to complete the acknowledgement once.

Please direct any questions to dosadministration@vanderbilt.edu.

Best,
Office of the Dean of Students
