Oracle Cloud Updates

Prepare for Oracle Update 20B on May 15-16

Testing is underway for the new release of Oracle Cloud update 20B, and additional information regarding updates and new features will be shared over the course of the next few weeks via user group meetings, email and/or MyVU as applicable.

Scheduled Downtime

The quarterly upgrade will begin at 9 p.m. on Friday, May 15, and continue through Saturday, May 16.

A downtime notice will be displayed on our website while the upgrade and testing are underway and will be removed when these activities are complete and the system is available to all users.

Procurement

In last month’s user group meetings, we introduced a roadmap for updates to the procurement process over the coming weeks and months. If you were unable to attend, please click here to access the recording of the most recent Procure-to-Pay user group.

Please stay tuned for additional announcements regarding these updates.

 

Learning

The May 2020 release 20B will include enhancements to the user interface on both the employee and manager pages within Oracle Learning.  We will preview these new features during the May user group meetings and share additional information with our users via email and/or MyVU.

Community Resources related to COVID-19

Information and Resources for the Vanderbilt Community

The university continues to update the community via email announcements and Vanderbilt’s COVID-19 website.

Please note the below topics related to transactions in Oracle Cloud.

 

Employees and Managers: Recording Paid Administrative Leave 

Resources for recording paid administrative leave per the guidance provided on the HR Information page are available in the Help Center.  Users can access these resources using the keywords COVID or Paid Admin.

 

HCM Specialists and Approvers: Transaction Processing for VSDIP

Processing transactions related to VSDIP will be included in the agenda for the upcoming user group meeting for Approvers, HCM Specialists and FUMs on Thursday, May 14.

In preparation for processing these transactions, a new Voluntary Staff Departures reference guide has also been provided by the HR team.  This guide is also available in Oracle via the Help Center.


2020 Spring User Group Meetings

All user group meetings for the remainder of the spring will be hosted via Zoom.

Details for each meeting are posted on the VU Shared Administrative Calendar – please subscribe to the calendar to add these to your calendar.

 

Finance and HCM Users

Recordings of the combined Approver, FUM and HCM Specialist user group meetings are available in Oracle Cloud Continuing Education: Financials and Core HR course in Oracle Learning.

 

Procurement Requesters

Next meeting: Friday, May 29 @ 9-9:30a 

The recording for the April 17th user group meeting is now available within the Oracle Cloud Procurement Users Community, and additional recordings and resources will be added over the coming weeks.

 

New Learning Community for Oracle Procurement Users

We are pleased to share that we have created an Oracle Cloud Procurement Users Community in Oracle Learning and will begin posting recordings for our user group meetings and other resources for procurement users there.  All Oracle Procurement users are welcome to join the online community and participate in the user group meetings.
