December 3, 2019

Welcome to SkyVU in Review – features, announcements, tips & tricks and other updates for Vanderbilt’s Oracle Cloud system and related processes.

Oracle Cloud Updates

Additional In-System Guidance and Resources

New in-system step guides and resource links have been added to the GUIDE ME tab within Oracle Cloud for topics including:

  • Chart of Accounts (COA)
  • Tax form updates
  • HCM resource guides

With these new links, users can now access many Oracle Cloud-related resources without having to leave the system.  Links and resources will continue to be added – if you are unable to find a topic within this tool, please email skyvu@vanderbilt.edu to request that it be reviewed for addition in the future.

Coming Soon

Updated, mobile-friendly time card

Oracle Cloud continues to improve the user interface with mobile-responsive pages. The HR Payroll and Process & Systems Optimization teams are finishing testing an updated, mobile-responsive time entry screen that we expect to begin using during the first full bi-weekly time period in January 2020 (i.e., January 12-25).  Additional information and training will be sent directly to the affected users later this month.

Updated widget for in-system guidance

Oracle is in the process of upgrading the in-system guidance tool that powers the GUIDE ME tab.  Upon completion, the in-system guidance widget will be enhanced to include new features, such as downloadable PDFs and quick-demo videos.  Please stay tuned for additional details over the coming weeks.
