Career Center

The Career Center offers a comprehensive range of services that provide support both at Vanderbilt and beyond, covering diverse professional paths including careers, internships, graduate study, fellowships, gap years, and entrepreneurial endeavors. A vital component in delivering this comprehensive assistance is the External Partner Engagement Team, which actively engages with a network of employers, alumni, parents, and friends of Vanderbilt. This team works diligently to cultivate, build, and maintain quality external relationships and provide strategic insight and support to their partners.

Everette Fortner

Everette Fortner, BE’84

Everette serves as Vice Provost for Career Advancement and Engagement and Executive Director of the Career Center. He earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Vanderbilt University and an MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.

With more than 20 years of experience in higher education, Everette has held leadership roles spanning strategic planning, career services, business development, and teaching. Prior to his work in academia, he built a strong foundation in industry with organizations such as Kraft, Nabisco, and Dun & Bradstreet.

Everette is committed to elevating the Career Center and expanding personalized career engagement opportunities for students, alumni, and employers.
