Overview:

Elena Kovalik is a third year graduate student in the interdisciplinary materials science program and does her research in the Valentine lab. Her research interests include dynamic metasurfaces and electrochemical modulation of material optical properties.

As a VINSE superuser she manages training for the two VINSE plasma-assisted deposition systems: The AJA sputter systems ATC 220 chamber, which is used to deposit a variety of oxides, nitrides, and metals; and the Trion Orion II PECVD system, which is used to deposit thin films of silicon compounds. She also is familiar with the Disco DAD 3220 saw for dicing substrates.
