Date:  Friday, May 3

Time: 9:30 am

Location: Percy Warner Park, Deep Well Entrance (Highway 100)    

Meet: Meet at the large trail map kiosk at the end of the parking lot

Trails: There are several options at this trailhead. There are miles of the Old Road that is paved yet it has significant elevation changes for challenge. Or you can choose to hike the White or Red Trail which both are natural dirt trails, with exposed roots, rocks and more significant elevation challenge. 

Descriptions:  

White Trail: This is a 2.5-mile loop, blazed white and rated moderate. The entire trail is in the heavily wooded interior of Percy Warner Park, except for the northernmost portion, which offers views from the top of the Allée/Belle Meade Stairs. 

Red Trail: (Mossy Ridge) The Mossy Ridge Trail is a 4.5-mile loop, blazed red, and rated challenging. The trail winds up and down wooded hills and hollows, crosses several springs and open meadows, and offers users a unique opportunity to see the wide variety of plants and animals that may be found in the Park. 

Lunch: Participants are invited to eat a delicious Cajun lunch together afterwards at Voodoo Gumbo on Highway 70, next door to TJ Maxx.

Note: As the weather warms up, remember to bring personal hydration and wear insect repellent, sunscreen and a hat.

OLLI Shared Interest Groups are intended to offer a smaller and more hands-on experience than traditional OLLI classes. The size and nature of the groups will vary depending on the preferences of the members. They will be led and maintained by OLLI members.
