Rizia Bardhan

Assistant Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering


Our research efforts are focused on interdisciplinary nanoscience. We design optically active nanostructures that can interact with light and display unique properties. By controlling the shape, size, and composition of these nanostructures their optical properties can be modulated (1) to scatter light which can be harnessed in biomedical imaging and biophotonics, (2) to convert light to heat which can be used in light based therapeutics and drug delivery, and (3) couple with semiconductors for solar energy conversion to electricity.
