David X. Guiracocha
Associate Tech Crew
Overview:
David Guiracocha is a junior double majoring in mechanical engineering and psychology. He joined the Tech
Crew in Spring 2023. In addition to his duties keeping the cleanroom clean and
restocking of lab supplies, he is learning how to operate the PVA Tepla plasma
asher system and how to characterize thin film deposition and etch uniformity
and rates. David joined Tech Crew to learn more about emerging nanotechnology
fields, with particular interest in nanoscale fabrication and characterization.
He enjoys learning from VINSE staff as well as learning about research done by
VINSE users and assisting them when possible.
Outside of VINSE, David works in Professor
Nilanjan Sarkar’s Robotics & Autonomous Systems Lab, focused on the
development of socially assistive robotics for patients with mild cognitive
disorders. He is also involved with Alternative Spring Break, the Vanderbilt
Programming Board, and Theta Tau.
