Two new research projects awarded to VECTOR

VECTOR has been awarded two new research projects:

  1. Spatial Analysis of Safety and Security Vulnerability During Transport of Hazardous Materials – funded by the STC, this project looks to use GIS to quantify risks along transportation corridors and develop a means to route based on the critieria. Mark Abkowitz and James Dobbins are co-PIs on this project.
  2. U.S. Freight Investment and Efficiency: Phase I – funded by IFTI, this project will attempt to examine state and Federal budgets alongside freight performance measures to quantify investment efficiency by mode, region and state. James Dobbins is the PI on this project and will work with Ron Coles of WR Coles and Associates.
