Want to get involved in clinical research but don’t know how? The VCRC serves to help connect you to a Principal Investigator (PI) and a research group conducting clinical trials at Vanderbilt in an area of medicine that interests you.

Clinical research involves the application of techniques discovered in basic science labs to the treatment of patients in the clinic. Clinical research allows you to be on the forefront of improving patient care, as this is how new treatments come to be approved by the FDA.

Through aiding a PI in his or her clinical research, you will gain valuable experience in the medical field while learning about the research process and your specialty of interest. This can be a perfect opportunity for you to explore your interests and to see if a medical profession is a good fit for you.
