Space Force Chief Visits with VADL
May. 28, 2021—United States Space Force Chief of Space Operations Gen. John W. “Jay” Raymond visited Vanderbilt University to learn about the pioneering aerospace engineering projects at the university’s research institutes and trans-institutional programs. The visit also presented areas for collaboration with the newest independent service of the U.S. military.

VADL Design Team Member is VUSE Founder’s Medalist
May. 9, 2020—VADL Design Team Member and Payload Specialist Luke Neise has been honored as the 2020 VUSE graduating class’ Founder’s Medalist. Neise has the prestigious National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship and is set to begin graduate study in the aeronautics and astronautics at Stanford.
VADL alumnus makes Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list with solar cell startup
Jan. 31, 2020—VADL Alumnus Kevin Bush, BE’14, has been named to the Forbes’ 30 Under 30 List, which highlights “600 revolutionaries in 20 industries changing the course—and the face—of business and society.” Bush was selected in the energy sector.

Nov. 11, 2019—A 25-member engineering team—13 seniors, 9 undergraduates and three graduate students—in the Vanderbilt Aerospace Design Laboratory is taking on the 2020 NASA Student Launch challenge. VADL won its sixth national championship in 2019, winning the top spot in the last seven years: 2018 and 2016-2013.
