Research by Discipline
Because Vanderbilt University provides undergraduates a liberal arts education at a research university, research is not limited to students by their school or discipline or major. Students who want to be teachers can conduct research with the medical center. Students who major in engineering are able to pursue their creative talents through music, performance, or visual art. Instead of thinking about research by school, we like to categorize research more based on what the research is like in the discipline than by which students are able to do it. Keep in mind, even within these categories a lot of variation exists, and a lot of interdisciplinary research happens across these categories.
