Vanderbilt Student Chapter of the Association for Women in Mathematics

Posted by on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 in Information, Students.

The Vanderbilt Student Chapter of the Association for Women in Mathematics meets biweekly on Thursdays. AWM aims to foster a sense of community among students who love math and are passionate about diversifying the field. We provide a space where people of all gender identities, backgrounds, and majors can talk about their experiences in mathematics, make connections with other people who love math, and work to inspire positive change on campus! We host biweekly meetings that focus on doing math together, building community, and discussing social issues in the math community (centering these around the experiences of women and other mathematicians in underrepresented groups, such as people of color and the LGBT community). All are welcome, and you do not have to be a math major or identify as a woman to be a part of our community.
