Ambassador Spotlight

On October 18th and 25th from 4-6pm, the Wond’ry will be hosting our 2nd annual Foam Fabrication Workshop. Led by Director of Making Kevin Galloway, the 2-week course allows students to construct life-size lego heads completely from scratch. Right on time for Halloween, participants of the workshop are able to completely design then create their lego head. Last year, I had the opportunity to take part in the Fabrication Workshop. I learned how to use tools such as the Bandsaw, which is used to cut through wood and plastic, the Hot Wire Foam Cutter, and a heat gun. While I kept my lego head pretty simple, besides the addition of a top hat I created with leftover pieces of foam and the power drill, several other attendees got really creative with their Lego designs. Foam lego head designs included a pumpkin head lego, a Princess Leia head with the hair side buns included, and a ghost head. The Foam Fab-Lego Heads Workshop will be held in the MakerSpace which is located on the 2nd floor. Spots fill up fast, so make sure to sign up today!
