Christopher Hoskins is a doctoral student in Religion, Psychology, and Culture as well as a fellow in the Theology and Practice Program. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from North Park University and Master of Divinity from North Park Theological Seminary. Christopher’s ongoing research focuses on spiritual care practices that contend with dislocation, ambiguous loss, global and ecological identities, and selfhood across borders. He draws on the integration of pastoral and practical theologies, qualitative research, and psychodynamic theory to offer critical engagement with current migration trends and border systems that stem from colonial structures and ideologies. Before arriving to study at Vanderbilt, Christopher served as interim rector at the Seminario del Pacto Evangélico del Ecuador where he was also an instructor in pastoral care, mission and ministry, and editor of a local pastoral journal. He continues to hold a commitment and interest in accessibility for religious and theological education, care for caregivers, and addressing human trafficking as well as domestic and political violence through communal care practices.
