Women’s Track and Field
Major: Biomedical Engineering

Why did you choose to attend Vanderbilt?

I chose to attend Vanderbilt because I thought it was the perfect combination of academics and athletics.

What are your career goals?

I would like to pursue a graduate degree in biomedical engineering, and I am unsure of what will come after that: either a career in academia or working in industry.

What does it take to be academically successful at Vanderbilt?

Being willing to take the time to fully understand and immerse yourself in what you are learning. Find a major you love, and that time you dedicate will never be wasted.

How do you manage your demanding schedule?

Every Sunday I will write out my schedule for the week based on the hours in the day and do my best to follow it.

What is your ritual before taking a test?

I will rewrite my notes a couple times, consolidating them to a few pages to study from and I will wake up an hour earlier on test mornings to run through my note sheet one more time before beginning my day.

What is your favorite quote?

“You should always give 110% in everything you do, because if you don’t there is always someone else working just as hard to beat you.” – Anonymous
