Rod Odom
Football
Senior
Major: Economics

Why did you choose to attend Vanderbilt?
I chose to attend Vanderbilt because I really liked the mix of a great education and the opportunity to play against top level SEC competition.

What are your career goals?
My major is Economics and my minor is Corporate Strategy, so something along those lines.

What does it take to be academically successful at Vanderbilt?
All it takes to be academically successful at Vanderbilt is effort and communication with your
teachers.

How do you manage your demanding schedule?
I manage my demanding schedule by doing a little bit each day, so that I’m never up cramming for a test the night before.

What is your ritual before taking a test?
I don’t really have a ritual before a test, besides the fact that I’d never take a test on an empty
stomach.

What is your favorite quote?
“When you show yourself to the world and display your talents, you naturally stir all  kinds of resentment, envy, and other manifestations of insecurity… you cannot spend your life worrying about the petty feelings of others.” –Robert Greene, The 48 Laws of Power
