Major: Medicine Health & Society

Why did you choose to attend Vanderbilt?
Vanderbilt was the best of both worlds and the ultimate choice for me.  Not very many schools fit my criteria for both great academics and athletics. It’s in one of the best conferences in the country, in the heart of a
beautiful city, and the perfect distance from home.

What are your career goals?
My major, Medicine, Health, and Society, gives
me so many opportunities to do a lot of things in the medical world. Right now,
I plan on becoming a nurse practitioner. I would love to use that role to
travel around the world to do humanitarian work in countries with health care

What does it take to be academically successful at Vanderbilt?
Time management is everything. I learned the hard way freshman year that
it is crucial to stay on top of assignments and to not procrastinate.

How do you manage your demanding schedule?
Keeping priorities in order is the only way to keep up. I have to choose what is most important for me at the moment, whether it is getting my work done,
hanging out with friends, or recovering from a hard workout.

What is your ritual before taking a test?
I don’t really have any rituals, but I hate cramming right before any test. I always make sure that I get a good night’s rest, a good breakfast and stay calm when I walk into the classroom.

What is your favorite quote?
Do things with passion… or not at all.”–Anonyms
